Linux - The Operating System of the 21st Century ^TM

I've been an SVLUG member since soon after  I moved to the bay area a
little more than 3 years ago. I've had the chance  to see the group grow
from a few tens of people in  Carl's Junior, to the hundreds of people  we
got after we moved to our cisco location and Linus came to speak.
I  first  attended  the  meetings,  then  got  involved  as  the
restaurant coordinator.  After that,  I got appointed as events officer,
and later got elected as vice president. (for those,  who don't know me,
I've been involved  in many of the  linux PR events we've had over the
years: http://marc.merlins.org/linux/#events ) Since then, I've also been
helping with the administration of the SVLUG box, and its mailing lists.

If elected president, I promise to:

- fight world hunger
- continue the war on drugs
- set world peace

If I have some  free time after that, I also plan to  continue the good
work that Chris Dibona has been doing, leading the group :-)

Having been vice president  with him, I have a good  knowledge of the
group, its volunteers and what's needed to successfully continue to run
it. If elected, I plan to revitalize our team  and work with our new web
team to keep our web pages and events page more up to date.
